Beechmont Community Garden

The Beechmont Community Garden is located on the “old tennis courts” which was once the Beechmont Primary School from 1904 to 1998.

The Scenic Rim Council took over the site as a Community Centre giving Beechmont Area Progress Association to be custodians of the Centre.

The Community Garden at the Beechmont Community Centre commenced on June 16th, 2012. The unused, dilapidated old tennis courts were then transformed, with the volunteer help of members to individually raise “no dig” garden beds made from recycled railway sleepers.

The gardens are 100% Organic, make their own compost, organic natural fertilisers and have a seed bank. Produce is harvested, some made into jams, chutneys, sauces etc. and the remaining crops sold at the Beechmont Markets on the 3rd Sunday of each month.
